The hotel mirrors a chic-Manhattan residence and houses: 607 guestrooms including 29 suites with panoramic views over Times Square, the Hudson River and the city via floor-to-ceiling windows; large spa-inspired bathrooms with walk-in rain showers; a 2,700 square-foot duplex Presidential Suite; a restaurant by world-famous chef Todd English; and more than 10,000 square-feet of flexible meeting and event space. We currently have an opportunity as Director of Human Resourcesat the pre-opening InterContinental New York Times Square. This exciting position has overall responsibility for the HR department within the property. DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: . Create programs and events to foster a positive work environment for all employees. Support and administer the employee satisfaction survey in conjunction with Corporate Human Resources. . Design and facilitate effective training and development programs for employees. Coach managers to create and maintain a work environment with high morale and productivity. Conduct new employee orientation to familiarize employees with Company standards, policies, procedures, rules and other employee programs. . Participate in the preparation of the annual operating budget and financial plans which support the overall objectives of the hotel. Promote teamwork and quality service through daily communication and coordination with other departments. Key departmental contacts include all hotel staff, Corporate Human Resources, and Corporate Legal and HR Shared Services/Hite to Retire. . You may coordinate and administer locally developed specialized recognition programs. Perform other duties as assigned and may serve as "manager on duty" as required. Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Communications, or Business Management, plus 4 years of related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience preferred. Basic knowledge of Microsoft Computer programs; Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc., and Human Resources/payroll systems, ADP/Timesaver experience preferred. Previous management/supervisory experience required. Demonstrated knowledge of union/labor relations also required. Other Information- Professional HR designation (PHR, SPHR or other) preferred. You must speak fluent English. Other languages preferred. You may be required to work nights, weekends, and/or holidays.
