Retail Banking Division ~ {Irondequoit Ridge Road} Basic Function: Tellers are the "face" of M&T Bank to most customers. A customers level of satisfaction with the bank is largely based on the quality of service they receive in our branches ? from tellers. That makes the position of teller one of the most important jobs in the bank, and a great place to begin a career at M&T ? one of the strongest, most highly regarded banks in the U.S. Responsibilities: Provide M&T Banks retail/commercial customers with superior service by doing the following: Customer Service ~Greet customers, build a rapport with them and thank them for their business. ~Process transactions accurately and efficiently, including: deposits, withdrawals, loan payments and check cashing. ~Help customers find solutions to their financial needs by identifying M&T products and services that can meet those needs, and referring the customer to the right person in the branch. ~Resolve routine customer problems and refer more complex issues to the appropriate person. Bank Operations ~Assist with the "settlement" of the banks ATMs and the processing of deposits made through the 24-hour deposit service. ~Verify signatures and distribute cash. ~Adhere to all procedures stated in the Teller Difference policy and follow up with current gain/loss ticket documentation. ~Ensure compliance with the banks operational, security and control policies/procedures, preventing fraud and protecting customer assets. General ~Achieve personal referral goals, and actively participate in branch sales promotions. ~Participate in weekly sales meetings. ~Attend new hire training program, and participate in appropriate training sessions in the future. Basic Qualifications: ~High school diploma or GED. ~Minimum of 6 months customer service experience. ~Basic keyboarding skills and data entry skills. ~Demonstrated organizational, time management and prioritization skills. Ideal Qualifications: ~6 months previous cashiering experience. ~Ability to lift 5lbs to 30lbs. ~Ability to stand for long periods of time. ~Proficient written communication skills in Spanish and English. ~Proficient verbal communication skills in Spanish and English. ~Proficient reading skills in Spanish and English.
