Assist Engelberg Center on Healthcare Reform (ECHCR) senior researchers with independent research on a broad range of topics related to health care reform. Draft papers, policy briefs, and articles detailing findings; coordinate conferences and other events. Education/Experience Requirements A minimum of a bachelors degree and strong interest in health care research or policy is required. Preference will be given to candidates with at least one year of research experience in academia, government, or a research organization. Training or research experience in the fields of health policy, health economics, epidemiology, molecular biology, or genetics is preferred. BA/BS in economics or mathematics/statistics, public policy, or related field, with a minor in economics preferred but not required. One-year job experience in economics and/or computer modeling preferred by not required. Competence to undertake research assignments with little supervision. Knowledge Requirements Candidates must be motivated and competent to undertake multiple research and writing assignments simultaneously with minimal supervision. Strong research and communications (written and verbal) skills required. Must be familiar with Microsoft Office applications including Outlook, Word, Excel, and Powerpoint. Principal Duties and Responsibilities 60% Research * Conduct research on a broad range of health policy topics, including literature searches, review and synthesis; policy analysis; program evaluation; and basic quantitative data analysis * Work with investigators and research staff at collaborating research institutions * Support Associates and Research Directors in drafting research papers and policy briefs. 40% Project Management * Support Associates and Research Directors in project planning and proposal development as needed * Support planning and coordination of meetings and conferences on health policy topics * Provide administrative support and other needed assistance.
