The Division of Nutritional Sciences at Cornell University invites applications for a Research Associate position. Candidates must have extensive experience working in both a clinical and basic science research laboratory using a variety of cellular, molecular and biochemical techniques to investigate the nutritional and metabolic regulation of ovarian function. Previous experience working with human subjects, molecular profiling of adipokines and functional genomics is necessary. This is a one-year appointment that may be renewed based upon successful performance, available work, and available funding. Responsibilities The successful candidate is expected to devote 100% of their effort to research involving human subjects. The incumbent is expected to assist the principal investigator in performing experiments that investigate the role of adipose tissue in the control of ovarian function during the menstrual cycle. Primary responsibilities of the incumbent include: 1) developing IRB proposals, recruiting human subjects, scheduling clinical studies and interacting with human subjects; 2) performing cellular, molecular and biochemical assays on human serum and adipose tissue samples including, multiplex ELISA, microarrays, RT-PCR, western blots and tissue culture; 3) developing and maintaining study databases and laboratory standard operating procedures; 4) preparing manuscripts and grant proposals and 5) providing training and support for students, post-doctoral fellows, visiting scientists and other lab personnel. To apply for this position, click here. Qualifications Ph.D. in Molecular Biology and 3-5 years of Post-Doctoral Fellowship Training.
