Senior Internal Auditor

The position is primarily responsible for the performance of financial, operational, and compliance audits under the supervision of the Manager of Internal Audit. The scope of the position encompasses the examination and evaluation of the adequacy of the Companys system of internal controls, including risk management and governance. The position is based out of New York City and involves travel to St. Louis, MO and Dublin Ireland.

Duties and Responsibilities

1. Plan, in-charge and complete audits and business process control reviews; develop and supervise co-sourced staff; assist in administrative departmental activities; and perform testing in the field as needed.

2. Review and evaluate the adequacy of internal controls and compliance with company policies and procedures for primary business cycles (revenue, expenditure, financial, R&D, etc.).

3. Review financial statements and related records for appropriateness of accounting and financial reporting and procedures.

4. Identify control weaknesses, accounting/reporting deficiencies and/or business productivity/efficiency opportunities.

5. Document and review process flow narratives, identify key controls, perform and review testing and document conclusions effectively.

6. Develop recommendations for improvement given existing business and control risks and other cost-benefit considerations. Discuss findings with various levels of management.

7. Interact with business unit management and staff members as deemed necessary.

8. Assists in the design, development, implementation and improvement of internal audit programs.

III. ADDITIONAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Assist Manager and Senior Director of Internal Audit on annual risk assessment and development of the annual risk-based audit plan and internal departmental projects.

Requirements

Education: Bachelors in Accounting required.

Experience: Minimum of 4 years in public accounting required at a Big 4 or Large International Public Accounting firm. 1 - 2 years in private industry is preferred and manufacturing and pharmaceutical experience is a plus. Good working knowledge of US GAAP.

Licensure/Credentials: CPA or CIA required.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities * Proficient with Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint; familiarity with information systems (extensive hands-on experience with SAP, ACL and/or participating in system security reviews is a plus). * Strong analytical abilities and attention to detail. * Ability to clearly and concisely document and present audit findings and conclusions. * Ability to work effectively in a team environment with minimal supervision. * Ability to lead by example * Ability to manage concurrent deadlines and multiple priorities and interact positively and communicate with all levels of staff and Management. * Strong verbal and written communication skills.
