The Behavioral Health Practice Management Specialist must demonstrate strong clinical and analytic skills, strong oral and written communication skills and must be comfortable working closely with large behavioral health practice groups as well as individual clinicians. The Specialist will be responsible for the development of relationships with behavioral health practitioners in order to improve and monitor their clinical effectiveness and efficiency, as well as compliance with contractual obligations. The Specialist will work closely with Care Advocacy Operations, and Network Management teams to ensure coordination, effectiveness, and efficiency. Primary Responsibilities: * Communicate with outpatient behavioral health practitioners and practice groups to initiate appropriate interventions focused on improvement of clinical outcomes and efficiency, as well as compliance with care advocacy processes and contractual obligations. * Identify practitioner outliers through analysis of clinical outcomes data, utilization/claims data, complaints, and compliance with care advocacy protocols. * Effectively administer intervention protocols based on group size and composition, and level of clinical effectiveness and efficiency. * Measure improvement of practitioner performance over time. * Monitor and report effectiveness of interventions. Modify interventions as appropriate. * Interface with other OHBS departments including Care Advocacy, Clinical Network Services, and Quality Improvement. Qualifications Qualifications: * Candidates must hold a masters in a mental health field and must be independently licensed as a mental health practitioner or be a registered nurse with extensive mental health experience. * Minimum three years (post-licensure preferred) direct clinical experience. * Minimum three years managed care, including utilization review experience. * Experience providing peer-oriented clinical direction, coaching and support preferred. * Strong analytical skills. * Ability to balance contractual and clinical considerations. * Team and individual work skills. * Excellent time management and prioritization skills. * Strong interpersonal skills. * PC proficiency required. * Ability to travel up to 50% is required Diversity creates a healthier atmosphere: equal opportunity employer M/F/D/V UnitedHealth Group is a drug-free workplace.
