We have an immediate opening for a Regulatory Affairs and Compliance Manager (RA&C Manager) at our Flavor business in Cincinnati, OH. This position provides regulatory expertise to our Research and Development function and works to shape policy through applicable trade organizations and governmental bodies. This position would stay abreast of pending legislation and prepare the organization to meet new requirements. The RA&C Manager works closely with customers to understand their regulatory needs as it applies to the use of Cargill ingredients in their applications. This position also has responsibility for Regulatory Compliance. The RA&C Manager leads a team of Regulatory Specialists in the preparation and delivery of requisite documentation to include: customer dossiers, technical data sheets, MSDS, labels, nutritional statements, religious certifications, continuing guarantees, natural, organic, and allergen statements. The regulatory function also reviews and approves all raw materials for compliance prior to use. The ideal candidate would have previous regulatory experience in the food and flavor industry with demonstrated ability to influence public policy. The candidate would be familiar with SAP and other systems-enabled regulatory applications. Principal Accountabilities: 30% Regulatory Affairs - collaborating with R&D and Commercial functions to bring new products to market and expand existing markets. Influencing public policy through trade associations and governmental bodies. Pursuing GRAS status on new flavors. Staying abreast of global regulatory changes that may have future impact on our business and educating business leaders. 30% Regulatory Compliance - oversee a team of Regulatory Specialists in the preparation of all regulatory documents and raw material reviews. Teaching and interpreting regulations 25% Talent Management - hire, train and develop team for growth positions within Cargill. Conduct performance reviews and goal setting sessions. 15% Process improvement - review existing processes and implement solutions to eliminate non-value added work Required: * B.S. in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Biotechnology, Microbiology, or Food Science and minimum 10 years experience in the food industry in a regulatory role or Master's degree in applicable field with minimum 5 years in the food industry in a regulatory role. * Demonstrated knowledge of global food regulations and ability to interpret regulations, manage risk, recommend solutions, and implement systems for compliance. * Previous leadership role in a trade organization serving in a role to influence public policy. * Ability to build and deliver persuasive arguments * Recognized leader and team player. * Excellent communications skills - written and verbal Desired: * Previous flavor industry experience. * Knowledge of Food Safety Management Systems - HACCP, GHP's, and Supplier Qualification processes.
