AutoReqId 31581BR Function Engineering Group/Division Electrical Group-PCSO/EESS/PDS-P External Job Title Field Service Technician - Baltimore, MD Job Description Eaton Corporation located in Baltimore, MD has an opening for Field Service Technician. The primary function of the Service Technician is to provide field service engineering and technical assistance to customers in the areas of installation, testing, start-up, maintenance, repair, training and modification of electrical power distribution equipment, controls and rotating apparatus for commercial, petrochemical, mining, water and waste water and power generation facilities. Individuals must be capable of self-managing assigned projects for electrical equipment, including a working knowledge of electrical test and diagnostic equipment. Equipment includes circuit breakers, switchgear, motor control centers, relays, meters, programmable logic controllers, variable frequency drives, transducers, contactors, ground-grid systems, switchboards, panelboards and various other electrical equipment. Candidate must be able to deliver technical solutions to customers with a high degree of professionalism. Performs conventional engineering assignments that may involve equipment or product design, testing of materials, preparation of specifications, process studies, or research investigations. Must be able to evaluate electrical distribution systems in compliance with industry (NEC, ANSI, UL and CSA) standards. Please note - most work is performed during normal business hours, but Service Technicians must be available 24 hours/day to respond to customer needs and emergencies. Job Qualifications/Educational Requirements Associates Degree is preferred. 3-5 yrs experience servicing electrical equipment is required.
