Communications Engineer IV

Title: Communications Engineer IV Location: DC Metro Area Req Number: AES16164 Position Description: Candidate will provide program management and engineering support to the Federal Aviation Administriations network management operations and the Telecommunications program office. Excellent interpersonal skills are required. Candidate will facilitate the implementation of a NAS-wide enterprise management center, to include facility modification, workforce development, call center establishment and the consolidation of multiple systems in to a common platform. Candidate will participate in the development of tactical and strategic technology migration plans including architecture roadmaps. Candidate will help evaluate and recommend solutions for network management and monitoring, trouble ticketing, call management, etc. Candidate will participate in and contribute to Technical Interchange Meetings. Candidate may help in developing ConOps, processes and SOPs for first-level, second-level and third-level support. Candidate will need to be able to represent the customer with other functional organizations within the FAA. Candidate will need to work successfully with the customers internal FAA and external user community, communicating the customers policies while in turn providing excellent customer service to the users. Primary responsibilities include the successful management and execution of the customers objectives and priorities. Candidate must be able to multi-task effectively while adhering to deadlines. Candidate will create, or at times direct the creation of, briefing materials, MS Project schedules, position papers, policy and guidance materials, and meeting minutes and action tracking. Candidate must be able to communicate effectively both in writing and in presentation, and be an exceptional team player. Candidate must be self-directed. Experience Requirements: Bachelors Degree in Science, Math, Engineering and 8-10 years. Professional work experience with FAA NAS Operational systems required. Network Management or Telecommunications desired. Program management experience required. Supervisory experience desired.Successful candidates must be able to favorably complete a background check with granted Interim Suitability which is required for this position.
