The Chase Core Processing team is responsible for the Operation, Maintenance, and Development for Core mainframe applications for Chase Card Services. The Core Processor team mission and guiding principles are to deliver robust, world class and efficient core processing technology for the credit card business. Working in close partnership with our business and IT colleagues, we will be champions of customer focus, speed, technical excellence, integrity, respect and teamwork.  Job Description: As an Application Developer, you will design, develop, code, test, debug and document programming applications to satisfy requirements of one or more of the C3 Core subsystems at Chase Card Services. Candidates will participate within the development life cycle and will be expected to work directly with other members of the development and project management teams. Candidates must demonstrate strong problem solving and analytical skills. In this position they will be expected to understand technical specifications, build application code, test and implement strategic applications. They will be required to work within prescribed development methodologies and standards. They will typically provide 24-hour daily production and technical support to assigned systems. A good understanding of the credit card industry and specific processing knowledge on the TSYS platforms is preferred but not required. Primary Accountabilities: .    Work with established technical specifications to deliver defined functionality with guidance from a more senior developer or development manager. .    Support changes/applications post implementation by debugging, fixing, and participating in maintenance releases as needed. .    Develop error free code that complies with all code standards and methodologies. .    Develop unit test plans and scripts and execution of test scripts to ensure correctness. .    Participate on a rotating on-call production support schedule. .    Work closely with business and service delivery team to ensure appropriate business measures are defined. .    Utilize COBOL, IMS, DB2 and CICS software technologies to ensure applications are suitably fit for use and admissible for maintenance/upgrades .    Test, modify, and implement application codes; make standard modifications to existing software applications and modules in accordance with high-level specifications, application support and industry standards .    Develop estimated levels of effort reports, for resource planning, at the various development life cycles. *  Job Requirements/Qualifications: .    Bachelors degree in Computer Science or related field of study or equivalent relevant experience in mainframe programming .    1-5 years of progressive experience in Information Technology .    Experience with mainframe based applications built with COBOL, IMS, DB2, VSAM, JCL and MQ Series. .    Familiarity with Assembler programming language preferred but not required. .    Functional experience with change management, implementation planning and release management. .    Experience in code management and versioning methodologies with experience with a leading code management tool. .    Financial industry experience and credit card or payment systems experience is preferred. .    Good oral and written communication skills. .    Must work well either independently or as part of a team.
