|My Career Center|View Job Cart| Sr Chemist - R&D (Analytical Analysis) PRSM-006517 Other 5060 - Corporate R & D Clark NJ FUNCTION: Experienced researcher initiating and completing multiple, complex projects within tight schedules, particularly in the area of Elemental Analysis. Correlates, interprets and presents data from projects in a manner that enables management to make appropriate business decisions. 1. Initiates and conducts complex, long term projects, i.e. several weeks to several months duration, handling multiple major projects simultaneously. 2. Develops objectives, prepares and executes plans and assigns priorities to complete major projects. 3. Writes, evaluates and approves methods and Standard Operating Procedures for the laboratory. 4. Mentors and trains less experienced chemists. 5. Advises manager / director and instructs department on new developments in analytical chemistry. 6. Maintains continuous inter-department interactions within and outside the company. 7. Addresses appropriate duties, tasks and projects, as assigned. EXPERIENCE " PhD in Analytical Chemistry, BS or MS with appropriate experience acceptable " Minimum of two years of experience, 3 to 6 years in cosmetic, OTC or personal products industry desirable " Meets or exceeds requirements for Senior Chemist " Proficient in elemental analysis techniques such as ICP/OES, ICP/MS, AA and XRF-spectroscopy " Strong skills in chemical analyses such as titrimetry, gravimetry, etc. " Strong background in instrumental techniques such as infrared or ultraviolet spectroscopy, or mass spectrometry, etc. as they apply to our laboratory, including computer systems related to instrumentation " Advanced skills or expertise in a particular area or technique in elemental analysis " Pragmatic, task oriented with desire to apply knowledge in the laboratory " Maintains a drive to overcome difficulties and to bring multiple projects to successful conclusions " Knowledge of the cosmetic industry and the role of analytical chemistry in the industry " Experience in leading projects to completion " Advanced skill in presenting related scientific data " Verbal and written French language skills desirable Must be Authorized to work in the U.S. on an on-going basis REQUIREMENTS: LOreal USA is an equal opportunity employer M / F / D / V.
