A Leading Specialist in Professional & Environmental Liability Lines, Argo Pro is part of Argo Groups E&S segment, which also includes Colony and Argonaut Specialty. Getting its start as the professional lines underwriting division of Colony, Argo Pro continues to write a broad spectrum of specialty professional liability and environmental risks on a non-admitted and an admitted basis. Argo Pro currently has a new challenging opportunity for a Senior Environmental Claims Examiner in our Chicago, IL, Richmond, VA or Edison, NJ office. Responsibilities * Review and analysis of insurance coverage; * Investigation and evaluation of Environmental liability claims involving pollution liability to include underground storage tanks, dry cleaners, country clubs/golf courses and fixed facilities, as well as pollution liability, general liability and errors and omissions coverage for environmental contractors and environmental consultants. * Negotiation of cases, including those in litigation. Analyze coverage on Environmental liability policies. Investigate, evaluate, and settle claims. Handle litigated files and direct defense counsel activities, which may include travel. Work closely with the underwriting department to assist with risk evaluation. Maintain professional licensure to settle claims as required. Other duties as assigned. Qualifications B.S. or B.A. degree; J.D degree a plus. Minimum of 7 years claims experience handling environmental related claims. Experience handling claims in multiple states. Strong oral and written communication skills. Previous insurance educational work, PLUS, IIA and CPCU desirable. Detail oriented with initiative and the ability to work independently in a fast paced environment. Excellent analytical skills. Must be license eligible to settle claims in required states. Ability to complete complex coverage analyses. Proficient in the use of computer programs, including Word, Excel, and Outlook. License/Certification B.S. or B.A. degree; J.D degree a plus.
