Assistant Control Tech

Position Description
George Weston Bakeries is now part of Bimbo Bakeries USA.  We are a 4 billion dollar fresh baked goods company with such brands as Arnold, Thomas, Entenmanns, Tia Rosa, Bimbo, Freihofers, Stroehmann, Marinela, Boboli, Mrs. Bairds and more.
Responsible for ensuring equipment integrity and timely repair.  Effectively support the PM program for the plant while keeping downtime to a minimum.  Analyze problems and interpret technical information necessary to make needed repairs on equipment.  Complete assigned work orders.  Assure all work assignments are completed and records are made.  List tools and parts for equipment for ordering.  Abide by company policy, which applies to good manufacturing practices and safety standards.
Position Requirements
Minimum 5 years experience maintaining automated manufacturing systems and equipment.  Two years of experience may be substituted with a relevant degree.           
•         Knowledge and maintenance experience in PLCs, PLC networks, drives, motor controls, sensors, automation components, control instrumentation, proportional valves, servo controls, SCADA, HMI, etc.
•         Experience with software interfacing to PLCs, VFDs, HMI, SCADA for troubleshooting and program and or configuration modification, etc.
•         Strong plus if trained and experienced in the use of Alan Bradley, 1756 Control Logix platform, 1747 SLC 500 platform.
•         Strong plus if candidate understands the ISA S88 Batch Standard.
•         Must be able to troubleshoot from electrical drawings and PLC program documentation, as well as with limited or no documentation
•         Knowledge of and ability to interpret electrical codes in order to help meet compliance/legal/safety requirements
•         Knowledge and experience in the use of hand tools, personal safety equipment and electronic measurement tools including AVO meter, Meggar, circuit tracer, signal generator, etc.
•         Ability to use power tools and shop equipment
•         Must be able to work night shifts and some weekends and be able to be on call to help with coverage
