We are a leader in the trading and innovation of physical and financial energy products. The firm has recently expanded into biofuels and widened the scope of its operation. Job Description: *We are seeking to fill a Technical Architect role for an ETRM (Energy Trading and Risk Management) Software solution we are developing in house. *The applicant must have a fundamental understanding of the physical and financial trade flow process. T *The individual will also be expected to be highly productive with the technologies in use on this project (see Technical Requirements) as well as possess management experience from both a technical and PM perspective. *The firms officers require competent project management; *The development team requires strong technical leadership. *The individual must have the following experience: *Senior level, team lead development in relevant technologies *Project Management - Plan ownership, reporting status to management and holding development teams accountable to schedules. *Prior work experience with: Solarc, RightAngle, Sungard Banner, Allegro, OpenLink Endur, Triplepoint or related ETRM software company. *The system in development is robust, will manage positions, risk, and scheduling/logistics. *This system will help streamline the groups daily operations and provide the traders with an invaluable organizational tool. *The manager/technical lead will work closely with the trading department and the operations department. *He/She will learn the fundamentals of the firms trading strategy and the trade flow process. Job Technical Requirements The following technical skill set is desired: *Web application development utilizing the J2EE platform. *Strong background in Java. *Preference is someone with experience with AJAX. *Database design & development with major DBMS provider (MS SQL Server, MySQL, Oracle). *Preference is MySQL. *Must understand the concepts of database normalization, constraints, and must be comfortable with SQL (all major dialects). *Experience with the software development lifecycle in a professional setting. *Coding from documented requirements and meeting development deadlines. Experience with the following technologies is a plus: *ORM frameworks such as Hibernate/JPA *Application development framework such as Spring/Spring.net. *GWT (Google AJAX Web Toolkit).
