Title: Data Analyst Location: NY-New York The Private Bank (PB)/ Private Client Services (PCS) Shared Services team assists high-net-worth individuals in managing their wealth, by advising them on how best to configure their assets for maximum benefit, and by providing financial services to achieve specific goals. PB/PCS draws on the expertise of product specialists throughout JP Morgan, and coordinates the delivery of JPMorgan services furnished to private clients, so that they complement each other and are presented to (and reported to) the client in an integrated fashion. PB / PCS works with clients in three interrelated aspects of wealth management: 1) configuring assets optimally, through various asset ownership structures, diversification strategies, and other techniques for realizing and preserving asset values after taxes, 2) investing effectively, whether clients prefer to manage their portfolio independently, or ask us to manage their investments; or a combination of both, 3) managing liquid assets to ensure readily available funds for ongoing day to day monetary needs. Our goal is to help affluent individuals optimize their wealth, after taxes and across generations. The ideal candidate is a professional with 3-5 years of background as a data analyst in financial services industry. Must have experience working with medium/large databases and a background in analysis and documentation of data is required. Experience in data warehousing is a plus. Diverse duties include working with end users to determine data requirements for reporting requests, data mining requests, the development and delivery of both adhoc/recurring reports, and assisting with testing and implementation. Additionally, the ideal candidate will work with our Information Architecture and Plan teams to document data requirements and develop data mapping documents, collaborate with various Applications Development groups to ensure that data requirements are well understood, and assist with the resolution of data related questions as they arise throughout the project life cycle. Must have financial services experience and excellent communication skills. Strong background in technology helpful Role Specific Responsibilities . Perform Business and Data Analysis for end user report requests using SQL, and or Business Objects or other reporting/data mining tools as indicated. . Support all technology projects in the analysis, documentation and socialization of data requirements in accordance with the needs of the technology program . Collaborate with Information Architecture and Business Analysis teams in formulation of requirements for data across all of Private Banking / Private Client Service's product lines including Deposits, Trust, Credit, Risk Analytics and Client Reference Data. . Develop appropriate requirements documentation in line with PB's / PCS's SDLC framework including Data Requirements, Mapping and Test Plans. . Define data quality plans to address data quality issues; work with business partners to build business understanding of data issues. . Support day to day production inquiries and questions from other technology groups. . Assist with the end to end project management of reporting and etl development projects within the team. Business Partnership . Establish strong working relationships with team members and across the business as appropriate. People / Project Management . Handle individual workload and deliver upon project milestones on time and on budget. . Demonstrate ability to work in a team environment for resolution of issues. . Coordinate project tasks and timelines for ETL development within the team. . 3-4 years of relevant experience with concentration in Data Analysis and Design . Moderate Financial Industry background including Trust and Custody, Deposits, Reference Data (Client and Securities), Credit and Risk analytics. . Moderate knowledge of relevant technology toolsets relative to data analysis and documentation including SQL, Data Modeling, Metadata organization, data cleansing, And reporting tools such as Business Objects, or other data reporting/data mining tools. . Moderate knowledge of Data Warehousing disciplines and related toolsets. . Strong attention to detail. . Strong communication skills.
