Lead Developer

Title: Lead Developer Location: DE-Newark J.P. Morgan is a global leader in asset and wealth management services. Responsibilities involve leading a medium sized group of application developers (5 ) in technical analysis, design, and build process of the assigned projects. Work will include all aspects of software development lifecycle concentrated with Java development using J2EE standard. She/he must have a deep understanding of client-server architecture/web application architecture, with proven experience working in a multi-tier software application. She/he should be well versed in testing techniques produce comprehensive test cases for all developed code. She/he must also support and participate in system and integrated testing across sub-systems as the need arises. She/he should be capable of producing solid documentation both inside code and external design specifications. Specific Job Functions .    Responsible for the planning & allocation of work to a team of Application Developers and facilitation of the team and running of the team on a day-to-day basis .    Accountable for the development of accurate program specification documents and program code to create software that meets the requirements of the technical design document and deploying software into Unit test and facilitating the deployment of code into QA, UAT and Production environments, adhering to all of the Change Control Processes. .    She/he must be comfortable interacting with team members, management and business partners spread across several geographical locations. Qualifications .    8  years of experience preferably in a banking or financial services environment .    Ability to motivate a team of 5 developers .    Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal and organization skills .    Should have had responsibility working on large and medium scale software projects. .    Strong programming and architecture skills. .    Experience supporting transactional production systems .    Experience with project planning and estimating Education .    Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience Technical Skills Required:      .    Required 5 years minimum experience in Java programming, should have had responsibility leading medium/large scale software projects .    Strong programming and architecture skills in Java Swing/Applet/J2EE Application Development .    Experience with Source Code management techniques; use of tools for software management .    Experience with IDEs such as RAD, Eclipse or similar .    Web Sphere Application Server/Portal Server Development experience Preferred .    Knowledge of relational database languages (Sybase or Oracle) .    Thorough knowledge of SDLC (Software Development Life Cycle)
