As a Senior Technical Writer, you will create, develop, plan, write and edit operational documents to support the end-users of Welch Allyn products. Working in collaboration with the product development team, and other functional groups, the Senior Technical Writer will manage the planning, research, development, review and final production of required documents, ensuring that they conform to existing style guidelines and quality assurance standards. Utilizing your broad experience and professional judgment, you will determine the most effective methods and procedures for fulfilling communication requirements for a broad scope of assigned projects. Key Responsibilities: In this role, you will conduct interviews, research and prepare publication plans for each assigned project, detailing the scope, content and intended audience of all required documents. Additionally, you will provide accurate cost and schedule estimates, managing the development and production of requested documents within the stated estimates. The Senior Technical Writer will coordinate the translation of documents into other languages and will ensure translation vendors are meeting agreed upon translation and schedule estimates. Required Background: A Bachelors Degree in technical communications, English, or related field plus proven professional technical writing experience is required. Successful candidates will have a demonstrated understanding of current technical communication strategies and practices, as well as the ability to apply state-of-the-art practices and tools to resolve complex communication challenges in creative and effective ways. Experience in desktop publishing concepts and proficiency with commonly used publishing tools, including FrameMaker and Word, will be keys to your success. Outstanding project planning and management skills, coupled with the ability to work effectively under tight deadlines, will be essential. You must enjoy working collaboratively and establishing a positive rapport with team members, and effectively negotiate and resolve conflicts as they arise.
