Network Principal Leader

Essential Job Functions

* Performs highly complex analysis of voice/data network needs and leads the architectural design, integration, and installation to ensure effective customer network architectures. Identifies large issues and recommends alternative courses of action.

* Evaluates, tests, and documents current network technology baseline for both hardware and software to determine complex networking needs. Develops the technology to be deployed internally for various networks and recommends new technology or approaches as appropriate.

* Develops technical standards and interface applications. Identifies and evaluates new products and provides network problem resolutions to create and maintain optimal network solutions. Conducts complex cost analyses to determine approach.

* Serves as an expert technical resource across functional teams to ensure consistent knowledge of network architectures.

* Serves as a senior technical resource to guide the client in analyzing and determining future voice/data network needs. Provides expertise and advice in crafting strategy.

* Reports and monitors system utilization and associated costs to guide highly complex short and long term information technology investment decisions as related to voice/data network solutions. Recommends alternative courses of action and implements solutions when approved.

* Oversees network integration and installation projects. Assigns and leads work; provides guidance with regard to expertise, timeliness and completion of project objectives. Addresses performance issues within prescribed guidelines.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications

* Bachelors degree or equivalent combination of education and experience

* Bachelors degree in computer science, engineering, mathematics or related field preferred

* Seven or more years of experience in voice or data networks

* Experience working with network systems, networking principles and practices, data or voice

* Experience working with networking software and hardware

* Experience working with proprietary software and hardware

* Leadership skills to coordinate, oversee and lead team members
