Food Service Director

1.        &n bsp;      Maintain application of State, Federal, and Joint Commission standards for Dietary Department.

2.        &n bsp;        Prepare meals for inservices and special events as requested.

3.        &n bsp;        Perform personnel management duties including screening and selection of dietary staff, providing department orientation and training, completing performance evaluations and giving feedback to Human Resources office.

4.        &n bsp;        Serve as Dietary Departments fiscal manager by submitting budget and adhering to FTE standards.

5.        &n bsp;        Schedule balanced and nutritional menus to be served to patients and supervise the food preparation.  Receive input from dietitian regarding specialized menus.

6.        &n bsp;        Maintain and monitor cleanliness and safety of dietary equipment.

7.        &n bsp;        Purchase food, supplies, and equipment for the department.

8.        &n bsp;        Responsible for dietary work schedule.

9.        &n bsp;        Perform other duties as assigned.

10.        &n bsp;    Support facility internal and external customer service standards.

11.        &n bsp;    Annually review safety policies for your department to ensure compliance with regulatory agencies and hospital practice

12.        &n bsp;    Annually review the number of injuries, types and costs for your department as well as provide effective corrective action which results in reduction of accidents

13.        &n bsp;    Annually set goals for your department and review every six months for compliance.

14.        &n bsp;    Annually review and maintain updated job descriptions, performance evaluations, orientation checklists and competencies.

15.        &n bsp;    Report all accidents immediately and provide effective timely corrective action on all accidents.

16.        &n bsp;    Ensure departmental safe work practices.

Requirements Bachelors degree in related field or equivalent combined education and experience.
