Rodale Inc. is currently seeking an Account Manager for their Organic Gardening magazine/OrganicGardening.com, located in New York City. This position will report to the Advertising Director and will cover all endemic and non-endemic accounts on the east coast. Categories include Natural Products, Health and Beauty, Food and packaged goods, Vitamins/Supplements, Pharmaceutical, Financial and Gardening. The ideal candidate will have 3+ years of advertising sales experience. Proficiency in digital sales as well as traditional print media sales is preferred. Responsibilities include: * Manage an account list to sell print and on-line advertising space and meet established goals * Separate accounts into high/medium/low opportunities through an account planning process * Establish strong relationships with clients and advertising agency personnel * Provide brief weekly updates, monthly status checks on progress against account plan objectives (pages, revenues, account plans). * Provide accurate sales forecasts for every issue throughout the year Ideal candidate will possess: * Must demonstrate a professional presence, highly developed presentation and interpersonal skills * Ability to interact and to communicate effectively and persuasively in a sales environment and at all levels * Self-motivated/self-starter with an entrepreneurial spirit * Strong personal writing skills required for use in sales correspondence * Outstanding selling skills We are proud to be an EEO/AA employer M/F/D/V.
