Full time position, with The Hospice Inn, located in St. Peters Hospital. The Community Hospice is a collaborative partner with St. Peters Health Care Services. The Social Worker, MSW is an important member of the Hospice interdisciplinary team. The primary focus of the position is to respond to the emotional and psychological needs of the patients/families/staff by providing counseling and emotional support to help them through issues of terminal illness, grief and loss. The Social Worker, MSW provides concrete social work services and actively participates in developing patient/family care plans. A Master of Social Work degree with a minimum of 2 years experience, preferably in a hospice setting are required. Knowledge of family and group treatment, community resources, and the dynamics of terminal illness, grief and bereavement are essential. A valid drivers license and reliable vehicle are required.
