Title: Surface Ship Combat Systems Analyst Location: DC: DISTRICT OF COLUMBIA-WASHINGTON Essential Job Functions Provide program management support and administrative support in the area of combat systems development and integration. Efforts shall include but will not be limited to: coordination and tracking of Combat System funding and the review and approval of Combat Systems development and integration data deliverables; participation in Combat Systems Reviews (CSRs) and related meetings for the ProgramWarfare Systems Engineer. Prepare materials for presentations and briefings, meeting agendas and minutes in support of IWS 1. Coordinate and attend PEO IWS program status meetings. * Develops designs for current and conceptualized systems, and equipment. Prepares plans and drawings using design software. * Analyzes elements or performance of the design using analytic tools, model tests, or prototyping as appropriate. Participates in developing reports of results and conclusions. * Applies regulatory, and customer standards, as well as classification society rules. * Interfaces with suppliers, vendors/contractors and cross functional teams to ensure necessary resources are available for ship/system. Basic Qualifications * Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience * Bachelor's degree in naval architecture, ocean engineering, and/or marine engineering or related field preferred * Zero or more years of experience in ship design, marine or ocean engineering * Experience working with ship and ship system design principles and practices * Experience working with ship system performance assessment and prediction methods * Experience working with applicable regulatory, commercial, and military standards and classification society rules Other Qualifications Must be capable of performing routine analytic work requiring the application of standard techniques, procedures, and criteria in carrying out a series of related programmatic tasks in support of ship and craft development programs. Must have a BS or BA degree. Ten years of professional experience relative to naval acquisition, shipyard operations, or ship or craft development may be substituted for the required degree. * Basic skills in computer assisted design (CAD) software such as AutoCAD, Pro/Engineer, SolidWorks, etc. * Basic skills in computer aided engineering (CAE) analysis software such as SMP, NASTRAN, FLUENT, ALGOR, MATLAB, etc. for ship and system design and analysis * Basic analytical and problem solving skills for the planning of tests/experiments and execution of system tests and ship trials * Basic organization and time management skills * Basic interpersonal skills to interact with customers, team members, vendors and contractors * Basic communication skills to interact with internal and external personnel and to convey project intent * Ability to work in a dynamic, fast paced environment
