Automation Architect- PERM Mar 20, 2009 Schenectady, New York Return to Search Results|Send job to a friend Description: Automation Architect Department:Information Technology Position Summary: Leads automated testing development on projects and service requests to deliver quality functionality within specified timeframes using the Mercury suite of tools (TestDirector / Quality Center, QuickTest Professional and LoadRunner). Serves as Architect to build and maintain an automation framework. Works with Test Leads, Project Managers, technical and business personnel to develop strategies for automation of projects and service requests, including requirements gathering and reviews. Provides coaching, mentoring and training to Automation resources for Quality tools and supporting processes, and accountable for system administration function for all Quality tools. Serves as an integral member of an enterprise-wide testing team, and is responsible for following established standards and best practices, participating in process improvement initiatives, and reporting testing results clearly and accurately. Provides support to testing and automation resources, and works with developers, business users and project team to resolve scripting issues, and acts as a point of escalation. Develops and maintains automated scripts using the HP / Mercury suite of tools; QuickTest Professional, LoadRunner and Quality Center. Performs other duties as assigned. Requirements: * Bachelors Degree in Health Care/Business Administration, Software Quality Assurance, Computer Science or related field or equivalent combination of education and business experience required field or equivalent combination of education and business experience required. * 7+ years testing and/or programmer analyst experience in an IT organization. * 3+ years leading test and automation efforts on medium-large scale projects and coordinating test resources. * Experience and working knowledge of formal testing methodologies and best practices, and code management (version control). * Highly self-motivated and directed, with exceptional customer service orientation and a dedication to meeting deadlines and ensuring quality delivery.
