Responsibilities Candidate will be responsible for providing strong technical leadership over the design and implementation of digital signal processing systems for spaceflight radios. Perform DSP system-level and architectural design including requirements definition, key component selection for mixed signal systems, algorithm development for software/firmware-based processing, system modeling/simulation, and conceptual board-level layout. Document projects and designs, including technical and schedule requirements, user guides, test results, and comprehensive project reports. Documentation will also include external publications, presentations and sponsor briefings. Qualifications Required: Master of Science degree in Electrical Engineering and a minimum of six years direct experience in the design of DSP systems, preferably in the area of radio communications or radar. Strong practical and analytical knowledge of mixed-signal processing circuits and systems. Prior hands-on experience in hardware design and testing including some VHDL programming. Demonstrated leadership traits including strong technical capability, good interpersonal and communications skills, and the ability to lead a team of three or more technical professionals. Desired: Experience with closed-loop phaselock systems such as carrier tracking loops. Experience in designing for high reliability applications and/or high radiation environments. Experience in the design and testing of software defined radios. History of publications, patents, and/or teaching in related fields.
