Responsibilities Perform analysis, integration and testing for development of active phased array radar and communications antennas and associated underlying technologies for Naval surface, airborne and missile platforms. Duties: Perform structural and thermal analysis to validate hardware compliance with shipboard induced and natural environments. Evaluate new technologies in packaging, thermal management and materials for applicability to phased array antennas. Develop and execute risk reduction tasks through IRaD, ONR and IWS tasking. Participate in Navy Integrated Product Teams (IPTs) to evaluate contractor designs for ability to meet performance requirements. Brief findings and recommendations to contractors and sponsors. Work in multi-disciplined environment to develop new technology and design approaches to enable lower cost and improved performance in next generation array radar antenna systems. Develop and validate design concepts and asses feasibility. Qualifications Required: BSME with 5+ years or MSME with 3+ years experience in structural and/or thermal analysis. Must have strong analytical background with experience in finite element analysis well as familiarity with hardware design. Requires strong communications and interpersonal skills and the ability to work within multidisciplined teams. Desired: MSME with 5-10 years experience in shipboard topside design, flight vehicle structural design, ship systems or antenna system to platform integration. Experience in RF electronics packaging design and fabrication processes, advanced thermal management and composite materials. Experience in military radome design is desired. Special Work Conditions Some travel is required.
