Description: - RF FIELD ENGINEER 3 (41971) Job Description RF FIELD ENGINEER 3 (41971) Engineering USA-DC-Washington Security Clearance : Secret Clearance Status : Must be Current Schedule : Full Time Shift : None Type of Travel : Local Percent of Travel Required : Up to 25% Description Duties and Responsibilities: The Flight Support Operations section has an immediate opening for an RF engineering technician to support test operations for NRL. This task is undertaken by the Integrated EW Simulations Branch in the Tactical EW Division located at NRL. The person on a daily basis will assist in the preparation of test pods used on various air craft. This would include: * Integration of various simulators into the pods for preparation of pending tests. * Ensuring the proper operation of pods outfitted for use on aircraft. This would entail alignment, calibration or adjustments to RF and other electronic components to meet equipment and test specifications. * Can work with tools related to the line of work. These tools would include but are not limited to: * Spectrum analyzers * Power meters * Oscilloscopes * Power hand tools * A working knowledge of mathematics as well as equations related to Radar. * The person is willing to work in other areas not directly related to RF electronics. * Works well in a team and can take the initiative if needed to ensure the successful completion of tasks. * Is able to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical personnel task related issues. * May be required to physically access work sites that may require kneeling, stooping, standing, working in enclosed areas. Required Qualifications: Typically requires bachelors degree (in a related field) or equivalent (5 years technical training or graduation from a technology school) and five to seven years of related experience in RF electronics. This experience must include: * Experience with spectrum analyzers, power meters. * Ability to work with and set up test equipment for a variety of tests. These tests may not be directly related to RF. * Military experience, either US Army or Air Force. * Prior military, AIMD level or system repair experience. Must have an active DoD SECRET clearance with eligibility for higher level clearances. Desired Qualifications: * The ideal candidate would be retired US Army or Air Force personnel who previously worked on ground or airborne radar systems.
