Responsible for developing strategies and plans necessary to accomplish the sales and profit goals for both. The Director of Business Development and the Vice President of Sales report to this position. Provide leadership and direction to the region and the "key account" segment of the business, including the Chain Grocery, Business & Industry, and National Account functions. Responsible for developing strategies and plans necessary to accomplish the sales and profit goals for both. External Responsibilities * Improve sales effectiveness and develop promotional programs in the branches in order to achieve financial and volume goals responsible for strategic pricing decisions and integrating new products increase distribution levels on new and existing products. * Establish sales, promotional, merchandising, and marketing strategy across the sales organization encompassing different routes to market, varied customer bases, and a multitude of brands. Includes development of programs, training, incentives and execution plans. * Develop strategy for price increases, recalls, and effective promotion strategies in order to minimize reductions in volume and distribution. * Develop and managing chain pricing and spending and promotional strategies. * Develop and manage sales budget including expenses and headcount. * Develop strategy for integrating acquisitions when necessary. * Lead and evaluate the performance of assigned personnel either directly or through subordinates, recommend training requirements to keep staff at highest level of skill necessary to meet company needs and objectives and recommend that personnel be hired or removed from the department. * Perform other similar or related duties as requested or assigned. PRINCIPAL INTERACTIONS Internal: * With Sr. VP General Manager for the West business unit, Vice President of Sales, Director of Business Development, Finance Director, VP of Operations and/or Plant Managers daily to discuss ongoing sales, operational and financial opportunities as well as customer satisfaction. * With Human Resources as needed to discuss employee issues. * With direct reports daily to discuss next day and ongoing business, work-schedules, priorities and methods to achieve required goals. External: With customers and vendors daily regarding customer service and sales issues. External Requirements * Bachelors Degree in Business or Marketing Prefer but not required * 5-10 years beverage industry experience. * 10-15 years sales management experience. KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS * Possess strong leadership skills. * Must be capable of promoting the abilities of assigned personnel. * Word, Excel and Power Point skills. * Strong written and verbal communication skills and good organizational and presentation skills. * Strong negotiation skills. ABILITIES * Heightened level of sensitivity toward customer satisfaction. * Aggressive focus on goal achievement objectives. * Ability to work effectively with both employees and managers. * Ability to convey a positive and professional image to applicants and employees * Bachelors Degree in Business or Marketing Prefer but not required * 5-10 years beverage industry experience. * 10-15 years sales management experience.
