Requisition Number 09-1517 Date Posted 11/03/2009 Title Client Account Manager Trainee City Rochester Description To meet and exceed client expectations in all areas of compliance which includes Cobra, Retiree Billing, Wrap Documents and 5500 Filings. To manage the service and renewal process for our clients; taking ownership of the clients Employee Benefits management needs and providing them with the professional knowledge and experience we would expect in their place. To understand and promote agency initiatives; to contribute to and enhance the agencys reputation in all actions. Primary Responsibilities and Duties: .Assume overall responsibility of the service relationship with client on an ongoing basis. .Direct clients with making coverage changes; uses contact with the client as an opportunity to review the whole account, round it and market. .Works with team to inform and educate client about policy coverage, changes, exclusions and insurance coverage needs and advises Account Executive/Producer where necessary. Responds to clients needs by producing appropriate paper work. .Plays key role in retention of accounts. Responsible for clients renewal program and managing process. .Proactively handles pre-renewal data gathering and discussions with clients. Reviews current program, operations, and exposure with client. Makes recommendations regarding coverages, marketing, pricing, etc. Meets with Account Executive/Producer to discuss accounts as needed. .Visit Clients or in conjunction with other members of the client service team, as needed to maintain knowledge of the clients operations and establish a work relationship. .Refers current and prospective clients to appropriate divisions. Personal and Organizational Development: .Supports the mission statement, business goals, service standards and business practices of the company. .Sets priorities and manages work flow to ensure efficient, timely, and accurate processing transactions and other responsibilities. .Maintains a cordial and effective relationship with clients, co-workers, carriers, vendors, and other business contacts. .Keeps informed regarding industry information, new product information, legislation, coverages and technology to continuously improve knowledge and performance. .Interacts with others effectively by utilizing good communication skills, cooperating purposefully, and providing information and guidelines, as needed, to achieve the business goals of the agency. .Work toward understanding and performs responsibilities of Procedures Manual. .Commitment to complete any educational requirements. .Participate in special projects, committees, and any efforts to improve the agency and its operations. .Submit written Goals and Objectives each year by December 31. Requirements Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: .College education or at least five years of equivalent insurance experience. .Must have Life, Accident and Health license or ability to obtain license within 1 year. .Ability to communicate orally and in writing with others to explain complex issues, receives and interprets complex information, and responds appropriately. .Ability to understand written and oral communication, and interpret abstract information. .Displays excellent telephone etiquette skills. .Knowledge of insurance markets, rating procedures, coverages, and industry operations to effectively manage, maintain and write assigned client and prospect list. .Be available as a resource. .Knowledge of insurance rating and underwriting procedures. .Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide whole numbers, and to accurately perform simple calculations involving decimals and fractions. .Ability to utilize computer and understand functionality. Consistently increasing knowledge of available technology and amending work patterns to maximize efficiency. .Knowledge and ability to perform technical tasks to expedite client service. .Ability to organize and plan work with guidance to complete assigned activities on a day to day basis. .High degree of self-discipline and motivation. .Understands and can perform basic office skills including, filing, typing, processing, and sorting functions. .Possess skills of persuasion and negotiation. .Can carry out detailed written or verbal instructions with multiple variables. .Satisfactory completion of agency testing requirements. .Processes good grammar, spelling and communication skills. .Knowledge of insurance products and usages and commitment to complete educational requirements including Pictorial, other appropriate benefits courses for example CEBS, CLU Essential Job Functions: .Must have ability to access and retrieve computer data on CRT, various files, reports. .Must enter data onto computer. .Must be able to converse and hear clients both on and off phones. .Must be able to maneuver in and out of office for calls or errands as job description requires.
