Image Librarian Department: Diagnostic Imaging Services Shift: 16 Hrs/pp 3pm-11:30pm e/o Sat & Sun Evening shift e/o wknd Job Details: - High school diploma or equivalent is required SUMMARY: Processes all requests forall patient images (films or CD) and/or follows necessary procedures to obtain imagesfrom Howard County General Hospital archives. Responsible for maintaining films throughout the facility, ancillary facilities and associated entities of Howard County General Hospital; pick-up and delivery of these films. Maintaining in-patient film records and filing discharges. Work involves basic computer skills, record keeping, filing, organization skills, and other basic clerical functions. Use of the hospital Picture Archiving and Communication System (PACS) to complete daily responsibilities. Responsible for assisting physicians with accessing patient films and assisting patients with obtaining needed records for referral to outside facilities. Innovations improve work procedures and methods and primarily result in some time and cost savings. The job duties affect direct patient care through the completion of tasks which allow others to provide direct care.  REQUIREMENTS: High school graduate or equivalent.
