Job Description Intellidyne, LLC is pleased to announce we are seeking an experienced Senior UNIX Administrator with a minimum 6 years of hands on experience with UNIX/Solaris System administration and support of production, test and development environments hosting Oracle databases. Storage Area Network (SAN), and load balancing experience are required. In addition LDAP, Kerberos, VMware, and Linux experience is required. Responsibilities include hands-on system administration, system maintenance and operations support of mid-class Sun Solaris UNIX servers, a Sunstorage 3510 with Veritas volume manager. The Administrator will have expert troubleshooting skills as well as the ability to perform day-to-day tasks associated with ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of Sun systems. This position requires a self-sufficient system administrator capable of performing most of the tasks listed with limited assistance from peers, product documentation and vendor support services. Essential Functions/Percentage of Time Spent on Each: High level function/responsibility Perform daily system/application administration duties 40% Conduct troubleshooting while maintaining data integrity 20% Process automation and scripting 10% Install OS and Application server patches, updates and tech bulletins in production environment 20% Team member mentorship 10% Responsibilities: . Perform daily system administration tasks to include installation of new software releases, system upgrades, evaluation and installation of patches, and conducting tape backups . Provide expert troubleshooting skills on customer system while maintaining data files and monitoring of system configuration to ensure data integrity . Resolve software and related problems associated on Sun Solaris platforms . Coordinate hardware maintenance and repairs with vendors . Install OS, firmware and application patches, updates and tech bulletins within production, development and test environments Qualifications: Required Skills: . Minimum 6 years UNIX/Solaris system administration . Expert troubleshooting skills . Working knowledge of Oracle . Solid knowledge of network administration and possess network configuration management skills . Experience in managing load balancers (F5 a plus) . Experience with tape backup (preferably using NetBackup) . Experience supporting SAN . Experience with source code builds and automating development environments . Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills . Team oriented and able to operate with minimal supervision . Proven analytical and problem solving skills . Ability to work in a project-based team environment . Experience working within a process improvement environment such as CMMI or Six Sigma . Experience with best practice methodologies such as ITIL . Strong organizational and time management skills . Customer focused with dedication to customer satisfaction . Experience with UNIX batch / shell scripting is essential Supplemental Skills: . Veritas Storage Foundation for Oracle RAC . Tape backup using NetBackup . Perl .
