A nursing assistant under the supervision and/or direction of a Nurse manager, Charge Nurse or Staff Nurse, responsible for giving direct care to assigned patients as defined in the Department of Nursing philosophy and objectives. Performs various patient care activities and other service necessary in caring for the personal needs and comfort of patients. Qualifications: Education: High school diploma or equivalent (GED). Certification: Certification as Nursing Assistant or Geriatric Aide by Maryland State Board of Nursing. Experience: Six months successful experience as a nursing assistant in a general hospital preferred. Experience as a student nurse is an acceptable substitute for a nursing assistant course, after the student has passed the fundamentals of nursing care level. Physical Requirements: Constant standing and walking; requires frequent lifting and pushing. Good physical and mental health, able to work under pressure and relate to patients, hospital staff and visitors. Please refer to job code 363186 when responding to this ad.
