Creative Learning Centers (CCLC) is accepting resumes for an experienced cook at the Roseland Child Development Center! The Cook prepares and serves healthful, high quality snacks and meals for the children attending this high-quality child development center. He/She also maintains the hygiene and safety of the kitchen and its equipment, orders food and supplies, dispenses medication as needed, and complies with CCLC and all governmental regulations regarding the care of the children. Position Requirements * 1-2 years of previous experience preparing food and menu planning for a school or other institution is required. * Knowledge of USDA requirements and serving sizes is expected for this role. * Food Service Certificate is required. * Familiarity with proper conditions and food storage is required. * Ability to plan nutritious menus and prepare sufficient quantity of foods for center population required. * Ability to understand and follow special food plans for food-allergic children or children with other food service special needs, including awareness of cross-contamination avoidance in light of food allergic children is highly important. * Basic math skills required for measuring and calculating serving portions is critical. * Ability to lift, stand, bend, and otherwise move as the position requires is necessary. * Good organizational skills are essential. * Familiarity with computers is desirable. * CPR and First Aid Certification or willingness to obtain them is desirable. * Valid drivers license, clean driving record, and ability to drive center vehicles is strongly desired.
