Senior Analyst - BEHAVE

Minimum Qualifications :

BA with a minimum of 6 years of experience or MA with 3 years of experience in the Alcohol and Drug Health Field.  Strongly prefer at least five years of work experience in developing technical reports, research, program development, policy analysis and strategic planning.

Job Responsibilities:

Abt Associates, Inc. is seeking to hire a mid-level professional whose primary duties will be to provide support on a multi-faceted substance use policy initiative sponsored by the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA).  The Partners for Recovery Initiative seeks to improve services and systems of care, and focuses activities in five areas: recovery, workforce development, leadership development, stigma reduction, and cross-systems collaboration.  This effort includes supporting the development of recovery-oriented systems of care in States and communities, developing and implementing a comprehensive strategy to address workforce and leadership development issues, equipping individuals with policies and tools that respond to stigma and fostering collaboration among the various systems that impact those with substance use health conditions.  As Senior Analyst for this project you will provide expertise in conceptualizing, planning, implementing, and conducting research for the initiative. These responsibilities include but are not limited to, assisting with the development of new projects, researching and analyzing issues, developing presentations and white papers, editing documents, and acting as a liaison to manage stakeholder input.

Skills Prerequisites:

Knowledge and experience in the Alcohol and Drug Health Field are required.  The candidate should demonstrate a history working in the Alcohol and Drug Health Field, with allied systems and with key Federal, State, and local stakeholders.  Strong writing, planning, research, communication and computer skills are essential. Preference will be given to individuals who possess expertise in the following areas that relate to the alcohol and drug health system:  financing, veterans healthcare, trauma, integration with primary care, SBIRT, public health, performance and outcome measures, data systems, evidence-based practices, workforce development and recovery-oriented systems of care.
