Central Research and Development (CRD) is responsible for the invention and development of new technologies applicable across a spectrum of DuPonts global businesses. Multi-disciplinary teams, including scientists and engineers from a broad range of technical fields, work together with marketing and the businesses to take inventions from the laboratory to the commercial scale. DuPonts Experimental Station Laboratory is recognized as one of the premiere industrial research facilities in the world. The successful candidate will participate in the characterization of materials and devices and the development of novel devices for energy storage solutions, with particular focus on lithium ion batteries. Responsibilities will include synthesis of novel electrodes, the preparation of electrochemical cells and electrochemical test devices, electrochemical testing, and materials characterization. The candidate will identify promising new areas of research, design new testing procedures, and develop an understanding of the impact of materials and processing on device performance. Qualifications * Ph.D. Chemical Engineering, Electrochemical Engineering, Materials Science, or Inorganic Synthetic Chemistry * Knowledge or experience related to Lithium Ion Batteries or related energy storage technology with 3-10 years of experience (preferred) * Electrochemical testing, battery or related electrochemical energy storage device fabrication * Ability to work in a collaborative, team environment. Ability to plan and organize individual research program and effectively manage time * Creative, innovative thinking. Good written and verbal communications.
