Other duties may include any of the following: reviews and incorporates Information Assurance Vulnerability Alerts (IAVAs); reviews and presents recommendations on published threats; monitors and audits computers for security compliance; monitors and updates anti-virus software; participates on incident response teams; manages and administers the ATC servers supporting standard applications and user storage, backup, and processing requirements; manages and administers campus wide systems used for email (with content filtering), intranet/internet web servers, and application servers; and performs ATC client upgrades to meet technical upgrade requirements using scripts and servers to push the upgrades to the clients. Requires current Comptia Security+, GISF or GSLC certification and ability to complete DoD and Army Information Assurance training requirements (IAM-I level) within 6 months of appointment to position (per DoDD 8570.01). Must meet personnel security standards for a IT-II level as defined in AR 25-2. Must have 7 years computer Help Desk experience and in-depth experience using various computer applications, including word processing, database, spreadsheet, email, and internet browser in a network environment including the use of Microsoft Windows operating systems (i.e., Windows NT/2000/XP) and answering technical questions regarding the operation of PC hardware and software, computer data communication options, or working at a Help Desk, and skilled in the use of Microsoft Windows operating systems (i.e., Windows NT/2000/XP); or an Associates Degree in an Information Technology related area and 5 years experience; or graduation from an accredited technical institute plus 1 additional technical certification, e.g. Microsoft Certified Professional, Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer, or Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer + Internet (MCSE+I) and 5 years experience; or a Bachelors Degree in an Information Technology related area and 3 years experience. Demonstrates a technical ability and proficiency through successful completion of specialized training, certifications, or work experience, in a competency area, to perform the required duties of this position. Competency areas include Microsoft (MS) Windows Server, MS Windows Server applications (e.g. SQL Server, IIS, Exchange SUS, SMS), Information Assurance, vulnerability scanning, intrusion detection, UNIX server, and LINUX server. Must be able to provide proof of U.S. Citizenship. Must be able to obtain and maintain a security clearance. No relocation assistance is available for this position. Education, Training & Experience see above Physical Requirements May require sitting in front of a computer for extended periods of time. The ability to climb into and on all types of military vehicles to include tanks, trucks, and armored vehicles (50%). The ability to walk over rough terrain is required (50%). Work Environment Work environment could be inside or outside, depending on the task. The ability to work in outside field conditions that include hot and cold extreme temperatures, and other outdoor climatic conditions is required (50%). Must be able to work in areas where only portable restroom facilities are available (50%). May be subject to exposure to fumes from fuels and solvents while performing work in vehicle maintenance shops (50%). Must be available to perform job functions at sites other than APG. Travel and TDY may be required. Equipment and Machines Assists and trains ATC and mentors lower-graded Help Desk personnel on standard software applications. Schedules and conducts training sessions in the ATC computer training classroom and/or in other formats to demonstrate methods and techniques for simple to advanced uses of software packages and specialized hardware for developing materials, correspondence, charts, graphs, spreadsheets, etc. Assists users and demonstrates methods for retrieving deleted or damaged files. Performs routine network user account and server management functions. Work also requires regular use of typical office equipment such as the personal computer, copiers, and fax machines. Attendance Attendance is critical at all times during normal duty hours. Work outside of normal duty hours may be required with as little as one hour advance notice. Other Essential Functions Must be able to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing. Must be able to interface with individuals at all levels of the organization. Must be able to obtain an interim secret security clearance in order to gain access to required areas, networks and systems within thirty (30) days of date of your offer letter. Must further be able to obtain and retain a secret security clearance. Must be a U.S. citizen. Must be able to obtain unescorted access to work areas.
