Human Resources generalist position supporting multiple business lines within Morgan Stanley Smith Barney. Self-starter with excellent relationship building skills is a plus. Advising clients and executing on key processes are significant components of the role. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: - Engage and manage relationships with a diverse client group ? including executive and leadership teams. - Participating in or leading the development and implementation of corporate, divisional, and Human Resources policies, programs, practices, and processes and communicating so employees and managers clearly understand purpose and expectations. - Apply HR processes and policies fairly and consistently, train managers on practices and ensure compliance with policy requirements. Recommend appropriate training for managers and employees concerning compliance. - Provide HR leadership and guidance to managers and employees in the areas of performance management, objective setting, coaching, staffing issues, employee relations, compensation, and organizational development. - Provide oversight and direction in the handling of employee relations matters. Can be called upon to investigate, where appropriate, high level issues and provide appropriate recommendations. - Maintain knowledge of legal requirements and government reporting regulations affecting human resources functions. Ensure policies, procedures and reporting are in compliance. Advise management in the appropriate resolution of employee relations issues. Respond to inquiries regarding policies, procedures and programs. - Supporting the year-end? process (Performance Evaluation, Compensation, Promotion) by serving as client group liaison for the HR team and other appropriate divisional and corporate office - Acts as project manager for HR related business initiatives ? including but not limited to, reductions in force and management development Skills Required - A Bachelors degree and 5-7 years of Human Resources generalist experience - A strong client focus with outstanding judgment, analytical skills, critical thinking, and verbal and written skills. - A team orientation with strong influencing skills and demonstrated ability or aptitude for team leadership. - Knowledge or acumen for financial products and services. The ability to manage a small team and liaise with global partners to support the business. - The ability to deal with the uncertainties of an evolving, dynamic organization. - The ability to engage in reasoned dialogue on all issues, to be flexible, and affect change. - Self starter with strong project management skills. - Ability to work in a fast-paced, high change environment. - Strong attention to detail with excellent prioritization skills.
