The FID Derivatives Team is responsible for all elements of settlement for Fixed Income OTC transactions, including interest rate swaps, credit default swaps, cross currency swaps, swaptions, caps, floors, FRAs, Collateralized Debt Obligations (CDO) and CDS on Asset Backed Securities. The team is functionalized into different teams responsible for controlling risk and managing relationships with counterparties to ensure that high risk settlements are confirmed/ settled on value date, and where there are any post-settlement issues or discrepancies, the team investigates and resolves in a timely way. This includes authorizing payments in a controlled environment, reconciling & resolving account level breaks, liaising with agent banks regarding any unapplied cash receipts and working with Morgan Stanleys middle office to ensure any booking errors are resolved. In addition to the daily escalation of issues to senior management, the team produces risk reporting and metrics on a regular basis, including monthly Key Performance & Key Risk Indicators. The Role in Detail ? Liaising with front, middle & back office colleagues within Morgan Stanley, as well as with counterparty contacts to resolve fails & unapplied cash items ? Building and maintaining good working relationships with counterparties & internal contacts ? Achieving industry set targets for fails resolution timelines ? Acting as a process owner and being accountable for all outstanding items ? The ability to effectively prioritize a high volume of work in order to meet deadlines ? Developing and improving existing processes and reporting, including exception reporting ?
