The Human Resources Generalist (HRG) will assist the Chief Financial and Human Resources Officer with the strategic management and delivery of human resources services to Wagners full employee base. The role will resolve routine to moderately complex employee relations matters and interpret federal and state employment laws, University policies, including the terms of collective bargaining agreements. He/She will lead recruitment and appointment processes as needed, interact with the general public and University personnel as the Wagner liaison for human resources matters. The HRG will research, plan, and implement professional development programs, workshops, and social events to improve employee productivity, elevate institutional knowledge and enhance the experience for Wagners operational core - its people. This individual will be a key part of the Financial Management and Human Resources team at Wagner and, therefore, also afforded dynamic project work related to the intersection between human resources and areas such as sponsored research, financial management, and facilities management. Qualifications/Required Education Bachelors degree Preferred Education Bachelors degree in Human Resources Management Required Experience At least 3 years relevant human resource experience with some experience in professional-level or specialist capacity or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Must include intermediate knowledge of compensation administration, recruitment, and/or employee relations. Preferred Experience Professional-level human resources experience in an academic related environment. Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Must have excellent analytic and problem solving, verbal and written communication skills. Ability to interact successfully with a diverse population at all levels. Must possess broad knowledge of human resources concepts, practices, and procedures. Good organizational skills and proficiency with data management systems and Microsoft Word and Excel. Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Knowledge of HRIS/HRMS applications and online recruitment systems.
