The Site Editorial Director (SED) will plan and execute Medscapes core content plan in key Medscape sites, including Oncology, Neurology, Pulmonary Medicine, Critical Care Medicine and Allergy and Clinical Immunology. Focused on driving specialist engagement through the creation and posting of compelling content features, the SED will recruit authors and develop regularly occurring features in these specialties. The SED is responsible for supporting traffic targets by specialty and tracking progress against goals. Strategic content planning and budget management for sites Communication with site advisors and site advisory board Content and faculty planning; solicitation of authors; management of contractual arrangements, payment, and follow-up (with AE) Clinical editing of all content; coordination with copyediting and production review Site updating (homepage, core resource centers, other features as needed) Preparation of weekly and special MedPulse newsletters Publishers Circle (partner journal) article selections and oversight of indexers Monitors site discussion boards and reports on trends, issues, and concerns as appropriate. Review of site traffic trends and content plan revisions based on traffic needs Communications with Marketing to develop surveys, special mailings, and other traffic-driving special initiatives Test innovations on sites (new content, new formats) Communications/collaboration with Site Design/User Feedback group to improve user experience and site traffic Communication and collaboration with government agencies, professional societies re partnerships, core content (with Professional Relationships group) Management of partner content and partner pages Attendance at key professional specialty meetings as needed Ensure that information on each site is keep up-to-date and relevant to the audience. Experience: * Clinical/editorial experience in at least 3 of the above specialties. Oncology experience is a must. Conversant with key/emerging issues in prevention, diagnosis and treatment. * Superior grasp of AMA style, ability to integrate with Medscape style * Knowledge of CME * Familiarity with Web publishing * At least 5 years of experience with a medical print or online publication * Minimum of college degree (medical or science related degree preferred) | My Career Center | Job Alert | View Job Cart | Back to Search Page | Please refer to job code 2337340 when responding to this ad.
