Our Homeland Security and Civilian Programs section is seeking a Senior Consultant to work with our FEMA clients supporting the National Exercise Division. This is a dynamic office with many stakeholders and a significant workload to deliver and improve the standards and oversight of the National level emergency management exercises across the country. The Senior Consultant will lead a small team to support the business management operations of the NED and The National Exercise Simulation Center (NESC). The position requires a security clearance and will be located at a FEMA location in Washington, DC. The Consultant will: * Provide business management and administrative support to the NED and NESC * Provide oversight, guidance, and day-to-day direction to a team of three in the execution of the NED Business Office administrative functions, including processing and tracking travel documents, as well as vendor deliverables and invoices, and additional general administrative support as needed * Develop meeting minutes, including action items, decisions-made, risks and issues * Support the quarterly project review processes, including process development and data tracking and reporting * Support the updating of current handbooks, guides and policies, as appropriate * Provide support for large meeting and conference coordination * Develop deliverables and work products as requested in support of the budget, procurement, and human resources requirements for NED * Support NED and NESC Executive Secretariat functions * Identify opportunities and solutions for NED business process improvement The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications: * Bachelors degree in Business Management, Public Policy, or a related field * At least 5 years of demonstrated administrative and/or business management support experience * Cross-organizational meeting facilitation * Work planning and management * Strong oral and written communication skills * Problem solving skills * Business process improvement experience * Experience with Microsoft Tools: Outlook, Word, Excel, Project, Sharepoint Additional preferred skills include: * Knowledge of FEMA * Knowledge or training in emergency exercise management A government security clearance is REQUIRED for this position.
