Iraq Strategic Intelligence Analyst

This position is for an all-source intelligence analyst providing intelligence support to senior military commanders and defense officials. Candidates will be working intimately with military, political, social, and cultural issues that affect current operations in Iraq and produce reports and assessments such as articles, studies, and briefings, using multiple media and at multiple classification levels. Candidates will participate in collective estimative and interagency products and processes, as well as participation in intelligence exchange with foreign governments. Supports 24hour/7 day a week crisis and contingency operations in Washington DC, and deploys in the U.S. and to combat zones overseas as required, in addition to short-term CONUS and OCONUS travel in support of customer organizations. This task often entails long hours and occurs in a fast-paced environment

Experience Requirements: We are looking for a candidate with the following:

Contractor analysts must possess a minimum of a undergraduate degree. A degree in Political Science, Mid-East studies or related topic is most desirable. Analysts should have a strong background in the Middle East and especially Iraq and Iraqi issues. Experience can replace the degree requirement.

Strong analytical skills and experience using the principles, concepts, and methodologies of all-source intelligence analysis to research, review, interpret, evaluate, and integrate all-source data in order to contribute to or produce all-source intelligence articles, papers, and studies for DIA, DoD, national, and international intelligence publications and organizations. Military/Force protection analysis experience including the ability to identify significant intelligence trends and propose new or revised analytical projects to alert decision makers to new developments and to meet customer requirements.

Must possess strong skills in oral and written communications required to effectively defend controversial intelligence positions; presenting and defending an organizations positions in conferences, working groups, and planning sessions; presenting briefings at the highest echelons both within and outside DoD, and preparing intelligence products for both lay and scientific audiences.

Strong analytical experience including the ability to identify significant intelligence trends and propose new or revised analytical projects to alert decision makers to new developments and to meet customer requirements. Familiarity with automated data processing capabilities and their use including Microsoft Office applications.

Must possess strong skills in oral and written communications required to effectively defend controversial intelligence positions; presenting and defending an organizations positions in conferences, working groups, and planning sessions; presenting briefings at the highest echelons both within and outside DoD, and preparing intelligence products for both lay and scientific audiences.

Ability to work in crisis situations to include travel, shift work, and weekend duty.

Demonstrated experience with collection disciplines.

Knowledgeable in the collection cycle and how analytical efforts drive various steps in the collection process.

Strong ability to identify collection gaps and the ability to craft those gaps into intelligence requirements that support the division strategic plan.

Prior military experience, prior deployments to the Middle East. Arabic language skills are all highly desirable, but not mandatory.

Experience working in an environment that requires rapid responses to unexpected complex issues and short-suspense requirements

Demonstrated the ability to manage production tasks and requests for information in a demanding/ fast-paced environment.

Successful candidates must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information which requires US Citizenship.
