Chemist

The candidate will support T&E of Trace Chemical detection systems for DHS and TSA projects. The routine activities include writing test plans, test procedures and test reports for completed projects; familiarity with SOPs and safety requirements in use in the Trace Detection Lab. Handling of chemicals under the supervision of senior technical staff and other activities as determined by the technical director. Daily Responsibilities Continued Additionally, the successful candidate will support other test programs as needed on the IT&E contract; this may include Advanced Imaging Technology, Advanced Technology-2, Bottled Liquid Scanner, Explosive Detection Systems, Shoe Scanning Devices, Enhanced Metal Detectors, Trace Cargo detection systems and other systems submitted to the Independant Test Director for testing. Required: Years of experience (min) 3-5 Required: Degree Masters Required: Skills Experience in the Trace Chemical field as it pertains to T&E of aviation security systems. Familiarity with False Alarm testing and an understanding of specifications and requirements associated with Trace Detection systems. Good oral and written communication skills and the ability to work independently or as a member of a multi-disciplinary team. Ability to recognize and identify Trace chemical signatures.
