Quality Control Technician Job ID: BS20093108-31147 Requirements: Expertise Quality Assurance Education High School/GED Job Type Full-time Location United States - Maryland - Rockville Job Level Entry Level Description: Position Summary: Provide quality control on all incoming/outgoing repository consignments. This involves physical verification of specimen label data for incoming material and review/approval of receiving documentation. Incumbent will also be responsible for performing a complete inspection of all outgoing specimens, and reporting all issues to project management for resolution. He/she will be responsible for overseeing all re-labeling tasks involving repository specimens, and providing the necessary support for the execution of label/data changes. This will involve database revisions, label control, final document review, and record keeping. The technician will be responsible for reviewing pertinent QC procedures, and ensuring effective QC measures are implemented and properly executed in the Repository operation. Additionally, incumbent will also inspect/accept/reject incoming packages and components associated with the kit production operation when necessary. He/she will monitor packaging/labeling production runs for accuracy and completeness, approve and control labels, and work on semi-routine tasks where ability to recognize deviation from standard practice is required. Key Responsibilities: % 1. Perform quality control on all incoming/outgoing repository specimens 25% 2. Provide QC support in the kit production operation to include the following: Ensure that the correct components are issued to an operation and that all paperwork is complete and accurate; Ensure that production personnel follow Kit Production Record instructions. 25% 3. Oversee repository label/data changes 20% 4. Provide monthly and periodic reports on performance of repository & kit room. 10% 5. Review, revise, create operating procedures pertinent to repository & kit function 5% 6. Serve as a QA liaison for ITN project and convey all QA updates and procedures to team. 5% 7. Assist in training on acceptable documentation and production practices. 5% 8. Maintain work area in a neat and safe manner. 5% Minimum Requirements/Qualifications: Education/Training ? High school diploma or equivalent Business Experience ? Excellent English oral and written communication skills Knowledge/Skills ? * Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of technical and professional personnel. * Must be able to prepare reports using Excel; knowledge of Windows, Word and Access a plus. * Knowledge of Universal Precautions, general laboratory and quality control/assurance procedures. * Knowledge and experience with cGMP compliance in manufacturing and/or biological storage. Working Conditions ? Environment ? Warehouse, including walk-in refrigerators and freezers Physical Requirements ? Must be able to lift and carry a minimum of 50 lbs. Must be able to process and handle materials frozen on dry ice (-78C) or liquid nitrogen (-195C) for up to 6 hours per day. Must be able to use a computer up to 6 hours per day. Participation in Hepatitis B vaccination program recommended.
