MSSB Capital Markets is a global leader in Fixed Income products, providing individuals, corporations and governments around the world with a wide range of services.  Within the division, people perform the functions of sales, trading, research, structuring, and finance.  Fixed Income professionals at Morgan Stanley Smith Barney actively assess and manage risk, trade securities and interact with clients to structure and execute transactions in a constantly changing market. Sales associates are responsible for facilitating and promoting sales / trading activity in Municipals with Branch Financial Advisors.  Associates must have a compelling interest in the municipal markets, and possess excellent written and oral communication skills. A fast-paced and intense environment requires an aptitude for analyzing and interpreting often complex information in a timely manner. • Facilitate Municipal Fixed Income transactions and sales with the top Branch system Financial Advisors • Ability to engage the sales force with relative value trade ideas in both the secondary and primary municipal markets. • Promote sales ideas by calling on Financial Advisors in branches with product offerings • Collaborating with traders to analyze and asses the risk of the positions currently held in client accounts • Perform portfolio reviews of client accounts and propose potential swap ideas • Additional responsibilities include, but are not limited to, client meetings and conference calls, Municipal Commentary emails to sales force, client trade execution and reconciliation Skills Required • 5+ years of experience within Municipal sales • Self-motivated, innovative, hard working individual, who can handle changing priorities and multiple tasks • Must be a customer service oriented, team-player eager to assist colleagues and members of the department at all levels • Excellent verbal and written communication skills • Outstanding attention to detail and follow-up • Strong time management/prioritization skills and solid judgment • Series 7 and 63 • Working knowledge of Bloomberg, and familiarity with the ratings agencies EOE Committed To Diversifying Its Workforce
