MSSB Markets - Trading Developer

Position Description Morgan Stanley Smith Barney, a global leader in wealth management, provides access to a wide range of products and services to individuals, businesses and institutions, including brokerage and investment advisory services, financial and wealth planning, credit and lending, cash management, annuities and insurance, retirement and trust. We are seeking a Java developer to work on all aspects of trading systems for the GWM Capital Markets fixed income trading desk. Successful candidate will work closely with the business to support and enhance existing systems for all fixed income asset classes. Projects will include MSSB joint venture initiatives, such as automation of syndicate offerings for delivery to legacy Morgan Stanley and Smith Barney sales forces. The candidate needs to be motivated and self-directed, and able to handle all aspects of the technology development life cycle. In addition, the candidate will be required to work closely with the business, and will require strong problem solving and communication skills. Skills Required • Strong java and web service skill • Experience with open source frameworks such as Hibernate and Spring • J2EE web development experience • RIA/Flex experience • Database experience; DB2 a plus Skills Desired 5 plus years related experience knowledge of Fixed Income Products
