MSSB - Markets IT Sales Developer

Position Description Morgan Stanley Smith Barney, a global leader in wealth management, provides access to a wide range of products and services to individuals, businesses and institutions, including brokerage and investment advisory services, financial and wealth planning, credit and lending, cash management, annuities and insurance, retirement and trust. We are seeking an experienced Java/Web developer to implement sales tools for use internally by MSSB Markets and externally by MSSB National Sales. Projects could include fixed income offering inquiry applications, product-focused portfolio mining tools for financial advisors, and Markets-centric business intelligence applications. Work will also include enhancements to existing applications required for the upcoming consolidation of the MSSB sales force. The candidate needs to be motivated and self-directed, and able to handle all aspects of the technology development life cycle. In addition, the candidate will be required to work closely with the business, and will require strong problem solving and communication skills. Skills Required • Strong Java and web service skills • Open source frameworks including Spring and Hibernate • RIA/Flex experience • Database experience; DB2 a plus • 10+ years experience Skills Desired • Knowledge of fixed income products
