Position  Morgan Stanley Smith Barney, a global leader in wealth management, provides access to a wide range of products and services to individuals, businesses and institutions, including brokerage and investment advisory services, financial and wealth planning, credit and lending, cash management, annuities and insurance, retirement and trust.

Seeking an experienced Java developer to work on implementing an open architecture fixed income trading platform. Target deliverable is an open and competitive fixed income marketplace that can be accessed by the MSSB sales force. Projects will include ECN connectivity, market data capture and aggregation, order routing, and price inquiry capabilities. The candidate needs to be motivated and self-directed, and able to handle all aspects of the technology development life cycle. In addition, the candidate will be required to work closely with the business, and will require strong problem solving and communication skills.

Skills Required:

* Strong Java and web service skills

* Experience with open source frameworks including Hibernate and Spring

* Messaging middleware such as WebsphereMQ

* Database experience; DB2 a plus

* 5+ years experience Skills Desired

* FIX Protocol

* ECN connectivity

* Knowledge of fixed income products
