JOB Morgan Stanley & Co. Inc. seeks Associate, Information Technology, IDEAS Practice Areas in New York, NY to be responsible for analysis, design, development, deployment and maintenance of cash trading and market making systems, including gathering requirements and regulatory rules from business units, enhancing and designing technical solutions, implementing systems in C++ and Java on Linux operating systems, and providing advanced support for applications. Responsible for participating in cross-team initiatives with various IT teams to design, document and implement solutions across multiple systems. Perform Object Oriented software development in C++ using advanced concepts of templates and design patterns, multi threaded programming, network programming, XML and FIX protocol. Utilize debugging tools, including GDB, Totalview to detect memory corruption or threading issues. Deploy and maintain current systems utilizing advanced skills in shell scripting, Perl, SQL and database systems. Responsible for researching trade details to assist during regulatory inquiries. Mentor, train and evaluate performance of junior members of the team, assign tasks, share knowledge, and interview candidates for jobs. REQUIREMENTS Masters degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or related field, and one (1) year of experience performing Object Oriented software development utilizing C++, multi threaded programming, network programming and advanced concepts of templates and design patterns on Linux operating system.  Prior experience must include debugging and detecting memory corruption using GDB; deploying and maintaining systems utilizing advanced skills in shell scripting, Perl, SQL and database systems; and designing and developing scalable and reliable systems.
