Business Analyst, Supplier Risk Assessment

Morgan Stanley has implemented a firm-wide Supplier and Vendor Risk Assessment (VRA) program.  Technology Business Development (TechBD) is one of the control groups in this program and runs the vendor financial risk element of this firm-wide process.  This program and position have visibility from Firm Management and senior leadership in IT.  Moving forward, vendor risk will be an increasing element in TechBDs vendor management program. The Business Analyst will be a key member of the Technology Business Development team.  Responsibilities include working with the Program Manager and other members of Technology Business Development to plan, organize, manage and execute the Vendor Risk Assessment program.  This position will be internally focused to start but over time will require interaction with sourcing, finance, vendors, an outsourced partner, and all parts of technology and operations at the firm. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, high attention to detail, and be able to product high-quality work product with tight deadlines.  This is a unique opportunity to gain exposure to a large enterprise technology business environment and develop a variety of business analysis skills. Skills Required Professional:  Top-tier written & oral communication skills.  Strong analytical skills. The ability research independently. Self-motivated with good interpersonal skills.  An interest in the technology industry and an ability/aptitude to continue to learn more skills. Technology: PowerPoint for crafting and delivering messages.  Excel and Access for organizing and managing data ? SharePoint for internal content management and collaboration.  Strong command of the Internet and other research / education tools.
