Risk is inherent in all activities conducted by the capital markets business: in the services and products delivered to clients, the technology and processes used to support them and the staff ensuring their effective operation. Operational Risk is the risk of loss resulting from inadequate or failed internal processes, people and systems, or from external events. The risk analyst will analyze and identify areas of potential risk within MSSBs Capital Markets Division and implement appropriate changes to mitigate that risk. This position will focus on Citis Capital Markets Division and its integration with MSSB Capital Markets. The candidate will develop an in-depth understanding of capital markets business processes and document them in detail. In addition, the candidate will also work with operational risk management to refine existing and develop new business processes specifically related to the MSSB Joint Venture. Perform Due Diligence? reviews of the Citi Capital Markets Platform and implement policies and procedures as defined in the Joint Venture Agreement. Ensure the various capital markets businesses are in compliance with firm policies, broker-dealer and banking regulations (i.e. SEC, FINRA, MSRB, OCC, Fed). Track the various policies affecting the capital markets businesses and assist the business in implementing the requirements of the policies. Assist in the documentation of procedures and processes for the various businesses within the division as they relate to the MSSB Joint Venture. Liaise with other areas of the firm that impact/support MSSB Capital Markets (i.e. Financial Control, Legal, Compliance, Regulatory, Risk Management, Operations, ARR). Formalize the process of risk management within the organization as it relates to the integration of the Citi Capital Markets business with MSSB Capital Markets. Present findings to MSSB Capital Markets senior management.
